December 2009 LIFT Meeting--Christmas Party

Pictures soon to come...I hope. Something happened with Mrs. Rachel's camera, and the pictures are gone! If you have digital pictures that she can use, please, let her know.

October 2009 LIFT Meeting- "Turn Up the Heat"

We had a Mexican theme for our "Turn Up the Heat" LIFT meeting. The fellowship hall was decorated with all kinds of authentic Mexican artifacts that have been collected by our church members on trips to Mexico. We also ate some scrumptious authentic Hispanic food made by our ladies, a few which are from hispanic countries. Sombreros hung from the ceiling.

Cast iron skillets filled with dried chili peppers were used as our centerpieces.
Each lady received a package of seasoning and atomic fireballs as a party favor.

After the meal Mrs. Peggy Harbin gave us a devotion on setting our soul afire for God. She showed us several places in Scripture where God referenced fire and our hearts being set afire. It was a heart touching devotion.

August 2009 LIFT Meeting- "Back to School"

The fellowship hall was transformed into a one room schoolhouse for our August LIFT meeting.

The tables were decorated in the basic colors. School supplies and carved out apples with tea candles were used as our centerpieces. Each placemat had old school pictures of many of our ladies on the front and the back. The little brown lunch sacks were our party favors. They were filled with all kinds of basic essentials a women might use in her purse.

We played a "Guess Who?" game with the pictures on the placemats. Everyone had a good time trying to figure it out.

Mrs. Rachel gave a Bible lesson on getting back to the basics for the Christian student. She spoke about getting good meals in the Word each day, listening to the Greatest Teacher our Lord throughout the day, obeying the rules given to us in the Bible, being prepared and ready each day for what may come our way, and resting in Him each night.
